Comparison of the effect after 6 weeks and 12 weeks Dangeon breathing exercise to physical fitness in mid-Life women

Abstract

|
This study was to examine the period which increases back strength, grip strength, muscular endurance, flexibility and balance after 6 weeks and 12 weeks Dangeon breathing exercise in mid-life women. This study was done between February and July, 2000 and the subjects of the study were 20 women in midlife living in Seoul. Dangeon breathing exercise was carried out for 80 mlnutes a day, 3 times a week for 12 weeks. Back strength, grip strength, muscular endurance, flexibility and balance were measured by using the Health Management System developed by the Korea Physical Science Institution. The collected data were processed by using the SPSS PC program and analyzed using
repeated measures ANOVA and LSD. The results of this study are as follows : 1. Back strength, gnp strength and muscular endurance were increased after 6 weeks and 12weeks than before Dangeon breathing exercise was done. 2. Flexibility and balance were increased more after 12 weeks than before Dangeon breathing exercise and after 6 weeks Dangeon breathing exercise. In conclusion, back strength, grip strength and muscular endurance are improved after 6 weeks and flexibility and balance are improved after 12 weeks Dangeon breathing exercise in mid-life women. Dangeon breathing exercise can be utilized to promote physical tittness in mid-life women.
